Book NowThe affiliate aims to transform agriculture from a subsistence activity to a sustainable economic driver by mobilizing farmers, building their capacity, and supporting their participation in the agricultural value chain. This initiative aligns with ZANU PF’s ideology, focusing on land, empowerment, and productivity.
Mashonaland East Province, with its fertile soils and hardworking farming communities, is strategic to Zimbabwe’s national development agenda. The affiliate will work with traditional leaders, party structures, youth, women, and farmers to unlock the province’s agricultural potential.
The key priorities include promoting climate-smart farming, value addition, and agro-processing, as well as empowering women and youth in agriculture, and organizing, informing, and supporting farmers to drive economic development.
Mr Mutsvangwa Hudson, Seke District head in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, representing Provincial Agriculture Director, said the launch was significant for Agriculture Business Advisory Officers.
A Seke District farmer, Mrs Winet Manyere, welcomed the launch, saying. In contrast, farmers had long worked productively with Agriculture Business Advisory Officers; the affiliate had addressed a missing link by unifying farmers under one political and developmental vision.
She said the alignment achieved through the affiliate would further enhance productivity, noting that farmers are firmly aligned with ZANU PF.
The launch marks a significant step in strengthening the link between government policy and grassroots production, integrating youth, women, and farmers into national agricultural programs aimed at boosting productivity and economic development.
