The event will mark the launch of a Youth Service in Zimbabwe Training Centre alongside a Vocational Training Centre, initiatives aimed at equipping the country’s youth with skills necessary for employment and entrepreneurship. The government has framed the project as a critical component of its youth empowerment and national development agenda.

Minister of Youths, Honourable Tino Machakaire, said all preparations were on track and expressed confidence in the success of the event. “We are looking forward to hosting the nation in Marondera for this year’s National Youth Day celebrations,” Hon Machakaire said. “This event is a significant milestone in our efforts to empower our youth and equip them with the skills necessary to drive our nation’s development.”

National Youth Day, celebrated annually, provides young people across Zimbabwe with a platform to showcase their talents, engage with government officials, and participate in initiatives aimed at national development. The theme for this year is expected to focus on youth empowerment, skills development, and fostering a new generation of leaders capable of contributing to the country’s Vision 2030 objectives.

Government officials and local authorities have assured that all arrangements, including logistics, security, and programme activities, are in place, promising a smooth and memorable celebration in Marondera.

The event highlights the government’s continued commitment to youth-focused initiatives and demonstrates the strategic role of young people in Zimbabwe’s socio-economic transformation.
