In a significant gesture of regional solidarity, Zimbabwe has delivered a consignment of essential goods to flood-affected Malawi. The aid, dispatched under the instruction of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, includes 300 tonnes of red sorghum, 800 kg of mealie meal, 200 kg of sugar, 144 litres of cooking oil, 322 cartons of canned goods, 697 blankets, and other vital items.
The consignment arrived in Lilongwe, Malawi, following a high-level resource mobilization ceremony held in Harare on January 7, 2026, officiated by Acting President Col (Rtd) Dr. K. C. D. Mohadi on behalf of His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa. This decisive action underscores Zimbabwe’s commitment to regional cooperation and its dedication to providing prompt support to fellow African nations in times of need.
