The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbara Rwodzi, has announced the reconstitution of boards for key institutions under the ministry’s purview, aligning with the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2). This strategic move aims to enhance the tourism sector’s contribution to Zimbabwe’s economy, which currently stands at 12% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and is expected to grow by 4.3% this year.
The reconstituted boards will play a pivotal role in unlocking employment opportunities and generating foreign exchange earnings, supporting the realization of Vision 2030 of attaining an empowered and prosperous middle income society.
The tourism industry is a critical pillar for job creation and investment, and the ministry is committed to harnessing its potential to drive economic development.
The new board appointments are effective December 31, 2025.

- Chair: Phineas Makombe
- Vice Chair: Sheila Hawa Sidambe
