Zimbabwe struck first in the 20th minute when Prince Dube capitalized on a defensive lapse to give the Warriors an early lead. The goal energized Zimbabwe as they maintained solid control for much of the first half.

Egypt responded in the 63rd minute, with Omar Marmoush scoring a powerful strike to level the match at 1-1. The contest remained tense until stoppage time, when Mohamed Salah delivered a dramatic 91st-minute winner, securing a 2-1 victory for the seven-time Africa Cup of Nations champions.

Egypt dominated possession in the second half, holding 54% of the ball, and repeatedly tested Zimbabwe’s defense, while the Warriors remained resilient despite conceding the late goal.

Following this result, Egypt leads Group B with three points and will face South Africa in their next match. Zimbabwe, currently third in the group, will take on Angola on Friday, aiming to respond strongly after the narrow defeat.
