Addressing the gathering, Minister Rwodzi emphasized the pivotal role of quality customer care at ports of entry, noting that every individual entering Zimbabwe is a tourist whose first encounter shapes their entire travel experience.

“Everyone entering Zimbabwe is a tourist, and their first encounter influences their travel experience, spending patterns, and overall stay,” she said.
The initiative prioritizes reduced waiting times, improved service delivery, and a welcoming reception, particularly during the peak holiday travel period. Minister Rwodzi acknowledged the significant contribution of diasporans to the tourism economy, highlighting the importance of making them feel valued and welcome.

Through the Whole-of-Government Approach, the Ministry is working closely with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development to strengthen border management. Minister Rwodzi commended the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa for introducing the Online Border Management system, a key innovation enhancing efficiency, transparency, and smooth traveler processing.
The Minister encouraged tourists and diasporans to visit Zimbabwe, touted as Forbes’ World’s Number One Must-Visit Destination for 2025, reaffirming the country’s warm hospitality under the banner “Zimbabwe: A Friend to All and an Enemy to None.”
