South Korea Hands Over Life-Saving Medical Equipment and Vehicle to Bulawayo

The City of Bulawayo has received a significant donation of medical equipment and a vehicle from the Republic of South Korea, valued at US$110,000. The donation, made in September 2025, is aimed at enhancing the city’s healthcare services.

The donated equipment includes an autoclave, weighing scales, an ultrasound scan, and an ultrasound machine trolley, which will be distributed across the city’s 21 clinics and Thorngrove Hospital. The vehicle, a Kia Sorento, will support community outreach programs.

The donation is a result of the strong bilateral relationship between South Korea and Zimbabwe, and was facilitated by the Korea International Cooperation Agency Alumni of Zimbabwe.

Receiving the donation, Deputy Mayor Councillor Edwin Ndlovu expressed gratitude to the people of South Korea, saying the equipment and vehicle would greatly benefit the community. The donation is expected to transform the health department and improve healthcare services in Bulawayo.
