Big news for the relegated teams! The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has voted against relegation this season, saving clubs like Kwekwe FC, Yadah, Dynamos, Caps United, and Highlanders from dropping down.

The decision aims to transition the league to a 20-team format, aligning with international standards. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 2026 Season: The PSL will expand to 22 teams, including the four already promoted sides (FC Hunters, Hardrock, Agama, and Bulawayo Chiefs).
  • 2027 Season: The league will revert to 20 teams, with six teams relegated at the end of the 2026 season.
  • Reason: To promote inclusivity, talent identification, and regional balance, as proposed by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).
