According to ZACC, the charges stem from alleged irregular contracts dating back to 2022 when NetOne engaged Farevic Systems (Pvt) Ltd to replace its SAGE 1000 system with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform at a cost of US$3.5 million. While that project was underway, Mushanawani and finance executive Christopher Muchechemera allegedly contracted Lunartech Solutions (Pvt) Ltd to upgrade the SAGE 1000 system at US$257,600.

Two further addendums were signed, raising the cost of upgrading the system earmarked for replacement to more than US$1.2 million. Additionally, Mushanawani allegedly entered into another unapproved contract with Diztech (Pvt) Ltd valued at US$79,467 for consultancy and training services that were already included in the Farevic contract.

The matter is set to return to court as ZACC intensifies investigations into high-level corruption in State-owned enterprises.
