
Zimbabwe’s Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Hon. Rtd General Anselem Sanyatwe gave reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Simba Bhora a timely boost ahead of their maiden CAF African Champions League safari when he visited them in camp at Geo Pomona stadium this Thursday in Harare.

The Minister was accompanied by Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd chief executive officer and executive chairman Dr Dilesh Nguwaya, and the Deputy Minister Emily Jesaya and other government officials.
Simba Bhora is going to play against Nsingizini of Eswatini. The team has opted to use Botswana’s Obed Itain Chilume stadium as their home ground since Zimbabwe does not have a stadium that meet International standard. According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the contest will begin with the preliminary games on September 19 and October 17.
The visit by Minister Sanyatwe gave the players and officials of Simba Bhora the confidence ahead of the crunch encounter. His visit was intended to assess the team’s preparedness and motivate the players ahead of the continental fixture.
The Minister implored Simba Bhora to fly the country’s flag high and bring positive results. The nation expects the team to progress to the later stages of the competition, the team was advised.
Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd’s chief executive officer and executive chairman, Dr. Dilesh Nguwaya, said the company was pleased that Simba Bhora was using their pitch as a training ground that meets international standards.
Simba Bhora are the only representatives this year after Dynamos pulled out of the CAF Confederation Cup.
All eyes will be on Simba Bhora as the football-starved nation looks forward to the team s progression to the later stages of the competition. Recently Zimbabwean teams have failed to pass the preliminary round.
