SADC holds another Extra-Ordinary Summit on DRC

Desirous of finding a lasting solution to the Democratic Republic Of Congo (DRC) crisis, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) has lined up an Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government on the 13th March 2025 to discuss the security situation in the country.

The Summit which is the third following the one held in January this year and the joint SADC-EAC Summit held in February is testament to the regional bloc’s quest to restore peace and security in the DRC will be held in Virtual format.

SADC Chairperson and Zimbabwe’s President ED Mnangagwa will chair the Summit.

The summit is set to receive updates on the security situation in the DRC and deliberate on the recommendations of the SADC Organ Troika Summit held on the 6th of March 2025.

The regional bloc yearns for restoration of peace in the populous country.
