Farmers Secure Land Ownership as Title Deed Issuance Gains Momentum

The government’s initiative to issue title deeds to beneficiaries of the Land Reform Programme is making rapid progress, with over US$1 million collected from farmers since its launch.

Under the program, A2 farmers pay US$800 for land surveys, while A1 farmers pay US$300. Many who have completed payments are receiving their title deeds within just three days, marking a significant milestone in securing land tenure.

Expressing gratitude, Mrs. Yeukai Chifamba of Somerby Farm in Zvimba said, “I am now a proud farm owner, and my family’s future is secure. I thank President Mnangagwa for making this possible.”

Providing an update, Permanent Secretary for Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Professor Obert Jiri, confirmed that over 700 farmers are currently having their title deeds processed. The government aims to issue 2,500 deeds by the end of this month.

Farmers are encouraged to visit the Makombe Building in Harare or their provincial offices to apply, with authorities assuring swift processing for those who pay in cash.
