
Calisto Pasuwa, former coach of Dynamos, the Zimbabwe Warriors, and Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets, has been officially appointed as the head coach of the Malawi national team.
The highly accomplished coach, who led Dynamos to four consecutive league titles (2011-2014), guided the Warriors to AFCON qualification, and secured five straight championships with Nyasa Big Bullets, is seen as an ideal choice for the role.

As interim coach, he guided Malawi to a draw against Burundi and a commanding 3-0 victory over Burkina Faso in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
His task is to rebuild the Flames, as Malawi is affectionately known, and prepare them to compete at the international level.
Given the necessary support by the football association, Pasuwa has the experience and pedegree to excel and surpass expectations.
