Zim-Uganda Set for Deepened Cooperation, JPCC on Its Way

Zimbabwe and Uganda are poised to take their relationship to the next level with the signing of the inaugural Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC).

This agreement marks a significant milestone in their bilateral relations, reinforcing Zimbabwe’s ongoing engagement and re-engagement policy. While the two nations have collaborated in various areas through existing memorandums of agreement, the establishment of the JPCC will formalize and streamline their cooperation.

The JPCC will create a structured framework for regular diplomatic engagements, addressing issues of mutual interest, and fostering enhanced cooperation. It will solidify the growing ties between the two countries, providing a platform for deeper collaboration in trade, tourism, education, and other areas.

Zimbabwe and Uganda have already seen a boost in connectivity and business exchanges, particularly with the launch of the Harare-Entebbe direct flight by Uganda Airlines. This direct route is expected to further facilitate business opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

Zimbabwe’s engagement and re-engagement efforts have revitalized its economy and bolstered regional partnerships.

The deepening relationship with Uganda, highlighted by the upcoming JPCC, showcases the success of this policy and sets the stage for even greater collaboration in the future.
