In her address, Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri lauded the ZDF’s role in national development beyond their constitutional mandate of ensuring peace and security. She noted the significant growth of the ZDF Community Assistance Programme, which has expanded from short-term projects to major construction and rehabilitation efforts in response to increasing population and development needs.

The new administration block at Kuwadzana 2 High School, built with contributions from parents and the expertise of ZDF personnel, is a prime example of this collaborative spirit. Since its opening in 2001, the school has seen a surge in student enrollment, now accommodating over 2,000 students. The administration block, featuring essential facilities like a staff room, canteen, sick bays, boardroom, and a computer lab, aims to provide a better working environment for staff and improve the overall educational experience.

Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri commended the community’s efforts in raising funds for the construction and praised the ZDF for their skilled manpower and dedication. She highlighted other ZDF projects, such as classroom blocks in Matabeleland North and Midlands Provinces and the reconstruction of Charles Lwanga School in Chimanimani, which was destroyed by Cyclone Idai.

The Minister urged the Kuwadzana community to protect the new facilities and encouraged students to maintain discipline, focus on their studies, and avoid detrimental behaviors. She expressed appreciation to all involved in the project and reiterated the importance of collective effort in achieving national development goals.

The launch of the 2024 Community Assistance Week and the handover of the new administration block mark a significant milestone in the ZDF’s ongoing commitment to improving public infrastructure and supporting community development.
