Dinson Iron and Steel, a pioneering steel production company, has marked a significant milestone in Zimbabwe’s industrial landscape. During a recent visit, stakeholders were introduced to the company’s cutting-edge facilities and its pivotal role in the nation’s economic development.
Dinson Iron and Steel has initiated steel billet production, a critical component in manufacturing various steel products such as rebars, wires, nails, bolts, and larger components for the automobile, construction, mining, and agriculture industries. The company’s forward-thinking approach aims to meet the steel demands of not only Zimbabwe but also regional and overseas markets.

The company’s commitment to health and safety was underscored, with management highlighting that no fatalities have been recorded at the plant, contrary to false reports. Legal actions are being taken against those spreading misinformation. This dedication extends to employee welfare, with a workforce of approximately 2,000, predominantly comprising youths aged 19 to 30 from local communities.
Dinson Iron and Steel’s community impact is profound. The company has constructed a primary school, a secondary school, and boreholes, and built modern homes for 22 relocated families, including four-bedroom houses, round kitchens, traditional bedrooms, and granaries. These efforts align with government collaboration to improve living standards for relocated families.
A standout feature of Dinson’s infrastructure is its state-of-the-art thermal power station, producing 50 megawatts. This facility, utilizing advanced technology to minimize emissions, underscores the company’s proactive stance on sustainable energy and reducing reliance on the national grid, addressing power shortages and blackouts.
Dinson Iron and Steel’s contributions reflect a blend of industrial innovation and community empowerment, setting a benchmark for future developments in Zimbabwe.
