The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) held its 2024 Annual Congress at Elephant Hills Resort, Victoria Falls, under the theme “Unlocking New Frontiers for Sustainable Industrialization and Climate-Smart Business Growth.” The event, graced by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Hon. N. M. Ndhlovu, emphasized the nation’s commitment to rapid industrialization and environmental sustainability.

Zimbabwe is on the brink of a new era marked by rapid industrialization, boundless innovation, and a strong commitment to sustainable development. The government is focused on creating an enabling environment for businesses, improving infrastructure, streamlining regulatory frameworks, and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. This is part of the broader agenda to ensure universal access to electricity by 2030 and position Zimbabwe as a preferred destination for investment.

The ZNCC has played a significant role in fostering trade, investment, and entrepreneurship, contributing to Zimbabwe’s economic growth. Addressing the impact of El Nino-induced droughts, the government is mobilizing resources to assist the most affected. The business community is called upon to contribute towards ensuring food availability, accessibility, and affordability. Collaboration with universities and research institutions is urged to develop innovative mitigation strategies and meet the Revised Nationally Determined Contributions.

The presence of international speakers and delegates highlights the event’s significance in fostering information sharing and collaboration that transcends historical borders. This congress provides an opportunity to drive sustainable industrialization and build a brighter, greener future for Zimbabwe.
