St. Petersburg Forum: Zimbabwe’s Path to Enhanced International Cooperation

The Cabinet received and noted a report on His Excellency the President’s attendance at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Honourable Dr. Fredrick Shava.

President Mnangagwa attended the 27th edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum from June 5 to June 8, 2024, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Forum is an annual event that gathers government officials, business leaders, and experts from around the globe to discuss significant economic issues and cooperation opportunities.

This year, the event was themed “The Foundation of a Multipolar World – The Formation of New Areas of Growth.”During the Forum, President Mnangagwa held a bilateral meeting with President Putin.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through cooperation in various sectors, including education, agriculture, health, and space exploration.

Another critical engagement for President Mnangagwa at the Forum was a meeting with a representative of the business community, where discussions focused on economic collaboration and investment opportunities.
