This launch signifies a new focus on youth development under the Second Republic, reflecting the country’s commitment to empowering young people and ensuring a brighter future for all.

The Youth Service in Zimbabwe Programme aims to shape young people into patriotic citizens and future leaders by instilling values of Ubuntu/Unhu, patriotism, discipline, and leadership.

Every Zimbabwean is encouraged to support this initiative, as it will prepare the youth to lead the nation. Many young people from diverse backgrounds will have the chance to meet the President as he delivers his keynote address, outlining the Programme’s foundation and direction.

This launch coincides with the completion of construction at the Chitepo School of Ideology in Harare.

The Government has consistently focused on youth development, creating a dedicated Ministry for youth empowerment and development. The event will provide young people with the opportunity to interact with various Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and private sector players.

The establishment of the Empower Bank highlights the Government’s recognition of the youth’s role in the development agenda. Youths are crucial for future leadership, and this Programme will help prepare them for these roles. The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development, and Vocational Training plans to set up Youth hubs across all provinces to serve as centers for development projects, life skills training, and information communication.

During the launch, the Youth Empowerment Forum will run alongside the event, aiming to provide a platform for the President to engage with the youth, identify and develop the socio-economic potential of young people, unlock socio-economic opportunities by engaging policymakers to harness the youth’s potential towards achieving Vision 2030, and increase awareness, commitment, and investment in youth development initiatives.

Zimbabwean youths are encouraged to take advantage of these Government initiatives to create employment opportunities.

The Youth Empowerment Forum will be rolled out across all ten provinces, and young people are urged to be part of this significant development. The Second Republic is committed to leaving no one behind.
