Dembare recorded their second win of the season. Dembare’s Ghananian import Emmanuel Paga who was brought in as a second half substitute was the hero of the day as he capitalised on some poor defensive marking of the visitors and pulled a trigger that went to the far post.

The scorcher left Telone goalkeeper Matripples Muleya amused with nothing to do. He was on the pitch for less than ten minutes when Nomore Chinyerere spotted him unmarked and delivered an inviting pass to the Ghananian who slotted it home.

The win relieved pressure on Genesis Mangombe the Dembare Coach who has been under criticism as the team results have been unconvincing to the team’s faithfiuls. The win comes just after the team won the Independence cup 1 nil win against Highlanders last Thursday which brings joy to the supporters and relief to the technical team.

Although the host managed to score both teams had a fair share of chances only for their strikers to let them down by wasting scoring chances that came their way.

With only three mins into the game the hosts had a very good scoring chance when Sadiki delivered a free kick but Dembare’s Mandinyenya missed the header after being left unmarked.

On the other end Dembare captain miscalculated his back pass and he had to thank their impressive goalkeeper Martin Mapisa who managed to make a brilliant save to deny Washington Navaya who had benefited from that moment of madness from the captain.

After the game Dembare coach Genesis Mangombe admitted that he was much under pressure in recent weeks for not winning.

He said he was left a more relieved man after the final whistle .He said winning games will bring confidence to their supporters.

“As acoach you always to play to win and if you go opposite you will put yourself under pressure and end up not concentrating on your work. Otherwise I am now happy we managed to score at Rufaro.”, he said

His opposite number Tendai Chikuni said he team struggled to contain the host team Dembare. He lost the battle in the midfield and they were coming in numbers.

“It’s only that they failed to utilise their chances otherwise they could have killed us in the first half. If you rewind that goal you can see that the guys who scored that goal, had to score it after a number of touches with our boys nowhere to be seen.Someone could have pressurised them but it is now water under the bridge. We are now going back to the drawing board and start preparing for our next game”, said the Telone Coach.
