Dembare as Dynamos Football club is affectionately known by its legion of supporters reduced the gap on the log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars after overcoming them 2-1at National Sports Stadium yesterday .

Young Elton Chikona scored in the first half and Keith Madera slotted in the final goal to make sure Dembare pocket maximum points.

The visitors got their consolation goal from Takunda Benhura. That Dembare win kept their title hopes alive.

Dembare coach, Genesis Mangombe admitted that he knew that it was not going to be an easy walk for them.

They had to plan for it and execute accordingly.

And it worked for them they managed to close them.

Genesis Mangombe said it was now water under the bridge as they are focus on their next game.

The team was desperate to win and fortunately they got it.

His opposite number Takesure “Deco” Chiragwi said we tried everything but it was not our day.

We pulled our socks in the second half but goals could not come.

The introduction of a new pair of legs, Kastigu and Takunda Benhura did not yield the desired result.

The home team used some dirty tricks as the game was played with one ball for almost the entire second half.

Yes it is part of the game as they desperately needed to win to remain title contenders.

That trick worked for them because it disturbed Ngezi’s play.

Dembare now sit in third position with 46 points, six shy of log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Highlanders is on second position with 47 points.
