President Mnangagwa mourns Tomana

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has send a message of condolence to the Tomana family following the passing on of former Prosecutor General and Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Johannes Tomana on the 6th of August in Honde Valley his rural home after a short illness.

“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde. Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, joins the entire nation, the Civil Service, the legal fraternity, the diplomatic community and the Tomana family in mourning the late Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mr. Johannes Tomana, who passed away on the 6th of August, 2023″, read the statement by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr. Misheck J.M Sibanda.

President Mnangagwa acknowledged Mr Tomana ‘s contribution to the country’s legal fratenity.

“He subsequently played a critical role in shaping the country’s prosecution process, leaving a lasting legacy in the development of Zimbabwe’s judicial system”, read the statement.

Mr Tomana was appointed as Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2020.

“His Excellency the President wishes to extend heartfelt condolences to the Tomana family for the untimely passing on of a generous, hardworking, loving and caring husband and father”.

The late Ambassador has been accorded a State-assisted funeral.
