Scottland FC Charged For Fielding Ineligible Player As ZIFA Releases Munhumutapa Quarter-Final Fixtures

Acording to a press release dated 1 October 2026, the charge relates to Scottland’s Chibuku Super Cup match against FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium on 14 August 2026, where the club is accused of using Stoffel in contravention of tournament rules.

The PSL said the Harare-based side has been charged with contravening Article 8.4 as read together with Article 4.1 of the Chibuku Super Cup Rules and Regulations. The case revolves around Stoffel’s eligibility to play in the cup, as strict rules govern registration. Fielding unregistered or ineligible players results in severe disciplinary action and potential match forfeitures.

The club has been requested to file its written plea, submissions or defence outline to the PSL by Friday, 2 October 2026.

The matter has now spilled into the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup.

On Wednesday, 1 October 2026, Bulawayo Chiefs lodged an urgent complaint with both ZIFA and the PSL over the same player ahead of their quarter-final clash, demanding an immediate and urgent determination from both football authorities before the cup tie.

In its statement, the PSL confirmed that a case related to the player in the Munhumutapa Cup has been referred to ZIFA for determination under the appropriate rules and regulations.

Scottland FC is now set to defend itself, with the outcome likely to have major implications for both the Chibuku Super Cup and the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup. If found guilty, the club may face expulsion from the Chibuku Super Cup tournament.

Meanwhile, ZIFA has confirmed the full quarter-final fixtures for the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup. All matches will kick off at 3PM.
