Kavango Resources Appoints Jasper Musadaidzwa as CEO

Kavango Resources plc, a Southern Africa-focused exploration and gold production company listed on the LSE and VFEX, has named Jasper Musadaidzwa as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, effective immediately.

Jasper Musadaidzwa, Kavango Resources plc Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director

Musadaidzwa is a Zimbabwean mining executive with over 27 years in the industry. He spent 17 years at AngloGold Ashanti, holding multiple senior management positions across Africa.

Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President for AngloGold Ashanti’s Guinea operations. During his tenure, he drove a full operational reset that delivered strong results. He extended the mine’s lifespan from 2026 to 2034, doubled its value, and re-established steady cash flows.

Before that, he was Senior Vice President for Operations across AngloGold Ashanti’s Africa division, managing four gold mines in Ghana, Tanzania, Mali, and Guinea. Those assets produced around 1.1 million ounces of gold annually, generated approximately US$2 billion in revenue, and had a workforce of more than 14,000.

His earlier roles included Managing Director at Iduapriem Gold Mine in Ghana, Operations Manager at Siguiri Gold Mine in Guinea, and senior technical posts at Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania. Before AngloGold Ashanti, he worked at Anglo American’s Skorpion Zinc Mine in Namibia and began his career in Zimbabwe.

In line with the leadership change, Donald McAlister has transitioned from Non-Executive Chairman and Interim CEO to Executive Chairman.

Donald McAlister, Executive Chairman, said the appointment comes at an important time for the business.
“Jasper’s extensive operational experience, knowledge of African mining and track record
of delivering growth make him exceptionally well suited to lead Kavango through this next
phase. I believe his appointment represents an endorsement of Kavango’s potential and an
important step forward for the Company.”

Jasper Musadaidzwa, CEO, said the role marks a return to where his career began.
“Joining Kavango is an opportunity that carries particular significance for me. I began my mining career in Zimbabwe nearly three decades ago, and I am extremely excited to be returning to help build a mining company with the ambition to create lasting value in the country and across Southern Africa.”

“I have spent much of my career leading mining businesses through periods of transformation, growth and operational improvement. My focus has always been on turning mining potential into sustainable value by improving operations, extending mine life and building businesses that can perform consistently over the long term.” he added.

With this leadership change, Kavango enters a new phase of development. The company has a growing platform in Zimbabwe and aims to scale it into a substantial, long-term mining operation, alongside advancing exploration throughout our wider asset base.
