BAT Zimbabwe Sees Significant Profit Jump in 2025 Due to Economic Stability

British American Tobacco Zimbabwe (BAT Zimbabwe) is expecting a substantial improvement in profitability for the year ended December 31, 2025, driven by economic stability and improved currency conditions.

The company’s financial results, to be published by March 31, 2026, are expected to show a significant jump in profit, primarily due to the absence of exchange losses in 2025, improved currency stability, and the adoption of a multicurrency billing model, which enhances revenue realization and reduces exposure to local currency fluctuations.

The company’s transition to a multicurrency billing model in August 2024 contributed to the positive performance. Shareholders and investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares until the full financial results are published.

The notable improvement in performance is credited to government measures on fiscal and monetary policies, yielding exchange rate stability, inflation control, and currency stability. As outlined in the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), the government has prioritized creating a stable environment for investment and innovation, strengthening the financial sector, and managing inflation. The BAT report demonstrates the positive influence of these government interventions on business operations and profitability.
