Election “rerun” suffers a miscarriage

The die is cast. President Mnangagwa was sworn in for a second term yesterday amid pomp and fanfare.

The swearing in comes after CCC failed to challenge the election due to lack of evidence. Had the opposition filed a petition challenging the election, this would have delayed the swearing in of the incumbent until the court ruled.

CCC assured its supporters that there was going to be a rerun of the election.

The failure to submit papers was a betrayal to party’s supporters who are now short of words. To aggravate the matter there is nothing tangible coming from party’s leadership regarding the so called “rerun” subject.

It is turning out that the claims were not backed by solid evidence. The party is now scared to open up to its supporters about the lie that they had V11 forms.

The diplomatic offensive will not yield anything as African Union (AU) states and Southern African Development Community (SADC) states are behind ZANU PF and President Dr E.D Mnangagwa who has been given the mandate to run by the electorate.

Power is derived from the masses through votes achieved in an election.

The CCC supporters are pointing to lack of evidence as the main reason for CCC to abandon the court-root and others highlighted the lack of structures at grassroots level as the major contributor to the fall of CCC leader Nelson Chamisa.

The party has no structures and is run by one person. How can it then win electoral contests.

Meanwhile the second republic has set the ball rolling and is geared towards churning out more projects that will uplift the lives of the people.
