Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbara Rwodzi, has positioned Zimbabwe as a premier global tourism destination at the World Government Summit Roundtable on the Future of Tourism in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
During the high-level session, Minister Rwodzi highlighted Zimbabwe’s rich heritage, world-class safari experiences, and welcoming people, earning growing international recognition, including being named Best Country to Visit in 2025 by Forbes Magazine.
She commended the country’s tourism policies, strategies, and investment frameworks under President ED Mnangagwa, guided by the principle “A Friend to All and An Enemy to None”. Minister Rwodzi acknowledged the UNWTO’s contribution to Zimbabwe’s tourism growth and emphasized the need for greater investment in luxury tourism infrastructure.
Minister Rwodzi cited flagship projects, including the ongoing construction of the Multi-purpose International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls.
She intimated that Zimbabwe is committed to inclusive, resilient, and future-focused tourism development.

As a testament to Zimbabwe’s international appeal and destination of choice, the country is set to host the UN Tourism Committee on Tourism and Sustainability from April 27-28, 2026.
