Government Registers Milestone with Makuti Section Completion on Harare–Chirundu Road

HARARE, Zimbabwe — The government has marked another key achievement in national infrastructure development with the completion of the Makuti section of the Harare–Chirundu Road, a critical artery linking Zimbabwe to the northern region and Zambia.

The upgraded stretch is set to boost trade, ease the movement of goods and passengers, and enhance regional connectivity along one of Zimbabwe’s busiest transport corridors. Beyond economic benefits, the road improvements also prioritize safety, reducing travel risks and ensuring smoother, safer journeys for motorists and commuters alike.

This milestone aligns with the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) and Vision 2030, underscoring the government’s commitment to modernizing transport infrastructure, facilitating regional trade, and supporting inclusive economic growth.
