President Mnangagwa Extends Festive Wishes, Urges Unity and Caution

In his festive season address, President Mnangagwa extended warm wishes to Zimbabweans at home and abroad, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort towards national development in 2026. He reflected on the progress made in 2025, citing milestones achieved across various sectors, and urged citizens to remain committed to the national vision of an inclusive Zimbabwe.

As Zimbabweans take a break to celebrate Christmas and the New Year, President Mnangagwa reminded everyone to prioritize road safety, calling on law enforcement agencies and the Traffic Safety Council to remain vigilant. “The commuting public should equally exercise extreme caution on the roads,” he stressed.

Looking ahead, the President highlighted the upcoming launch of the National Development Strategy 2 as a crucial step towards realizing Vision 2030. He emphasized that achieving the Zimbabwe citizens envision requires collective effort, unity, peace, and social cohesion.

President Mnangagwa also sounded the alarm on drug and substance abuse, urging communities to intensify efforts to combat this scourge, particularly during the festive period. Additionally, he encouraged farmers to capitalize on the rainy season to ensure household and national food security.

In closing, the President wished Zimbabweans a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, urging caution during the wet season and acknowledging the Civil Protection Unit’s readiness to respond to emergencies.
