ZRP Investigates Multiple Murder Incident in Guruve

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating a multiple murder incident that occurred on the night of 11 December 2025 at Plot 9, Ona Farm, in Guruve.

In a statement released on 15 December, police said a suspect identified as Anymore Zvitsva allegedly murdered five members of the same family. The victims include an elderly woman, a female adult, two young children and two grandchildren.

Police identified the deceased as Grace Zvitsva (66), Loice Chiringaushe, Taku Kariva (5), Tatenda Chirenje (2) and another minor. One family member, Tendai Zvitsva, was found alive but unconscious and was rushed to Guruve Hospital, where he later died upon admission.

According to the police, a neighbour was alerted by unusual noise coming from the homestead and responded together with other villagers. Upon arrival, they discovered signs of violence and alerted authorities.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police said investigations are ongoing and the suspect is being sought. Law enforcement agencies have intensified the manhunt, deploying support units, canine teams, horse patrols and intelligence units to track the suspect, who is believed to have fled into nearby forested and mountainous areas.

Police have also called on members of the public with information that may assist in the arrest of the suspect to report to the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631, via WhatsApp, or at any nearest police station.

The statement was issued by the Commissioner for Press and Public Relations at Police General Headquarters.
