ZIFA quashes PSL’s decision to defer relegation of teams from the top flight league

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has rejected the Premier Soccer League’s (PSL) decision to suspend relegation for the 2025 season and expand the league to 22 teams.

ZIFA insists that promotion and relegation are essential to maintaining the league’s integrity and fairness, and that any changes must follow proper procedure.

This means four teams will be relegated at the end of the season on November 23, 2025. The move has thrown the league into uncertainty, affecting clubs like Dynamos and Highlanders, which were at risk of relegation.
