The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has fined Herentals Football Club US$5 000 and banned two of its security officials for three seasons following incidents of assault and disorderly conduct during a league match against Caps United at Rufaro Stadium on 13 September 2025.
According to a PSL statement released on Wednesday, Herentals pleaded guilty to breaching league rules after one of their security officials assaulted a football fan in the VVIP area, while another attacked a police officer during a post-match altercation.
The Disciplinary Committee expressed concern over the club’s repeated involvement in violent incidents, noting that previous sanctions had failed to deter misconduct by the same individuals, identified as Paradzai Afa and Tairos Ngoma.
In addition to the fine and bans, Herentals will play their next three home matches behind closed doors, beginning with their Matchday 32 fixture against Yadah FC.
The PSL emphasised its zero-tolerance stance on violence, urging clubs to ensure proper training and conduct among their officials and security personnel in line with league regulations.
