A modern private hospital set to transform access to quality health services has officially opened in Rusape, marking a milestone in the town’s healthcare landscape. Dr Mutindori highlighted that affordability and accessibility remain at the heart of the facility’s operations, noting that 60 percent of patients pay cash, a sign that fees are competitive and within reach for many. He added that the hospital performs life-saving operations such as caesarean sections, neurosurgical procedures, and complex orthopaedic surgeries, with impressive outcomes that include zero neonatal and maternal deaths to date.

He pointed out that the facility has brought specialist services previously unavailable in Rusape, and its impact is already evident through a 90 percent bed occupancy rate and lower fees than some public institutions. The Minister underscored that such partnerships between the public and private sectors are key to filling service gaps, while also revealing that government is reviewing hospital fees nationwide as it drafts the National Health Insurance Bill.
