Archbishop Prof. Eunor Guti Urges Women to Lead With Faith, Light, and Unity

By Aldridge Dzvene
Harare – Archbishop Prof. Eunor Guti, affectionately known as Mai Guti, set the spiritual tone of the Today’s Woman Conference with a message that resonated deeply with both the heart and the mind. Her ministration went beyond encouragement, presenting a framework for women to rediscover their divine identity as carriers of the Word, bearers of light, and custodians of God’s treasure.

Taking her foundation from John 3:5, she reminded the audience that “unless a person is born of water and the Spirit, they cannot enter the Kingdom of God.” She explained that the water represents the Word, a living, cleansing, and defining force that should guide ambitions, realign life goals, and set the standard for purposeful living. For women, she said, this meant allowing the Word to shape every aspect of life, from family to career to nation-building.

Her sermon moved into profound imagery, describing women as the “souls of the world”, irreplaceable vessels through whom God releases nurture, wisdom, and creativity. She urged them to rise into positions of influence, not just within the home but across society, embodying wealth with dignity and character. True wealth, she taught, is not only material prosperity but the capacity to influence, uplift, and sustain others through Christlike stewardship.

Quoting Matthew 5:14, Mai Guti called women to become “a city set on a hill,” unhidden and radiant, a symbol of hope and light for families, communities, and nations. She emphasized that when women shine with God’s character, patience, humility, and integrity, their lives become ministries in themselves, transforming those around them.

Drawing from Psalms 133, she highlighted the importance of unity, noting that the gathering of women across denominations and backgrounds was not just symbolic but powerful. In unity, she declared, God commands blessings that overflow beyond individuals to entire communities and nations. This, she said, was the essence of safeguarding God’s treasure: protecting the gifts, talents, and spiritual deposits entrusted to women for the benefit of the world.

Her message blended theology with social application, reminding the audience that Christian women are called to integrate faith with action. She encouraged them to pursue excellence in leadership, entrepreneurship, and public service, all while remaining firmly grounded in Christlike character. In doing so, they would fulfill their dual role: spiritual nurturers and societal builders.

The impact of Mai Guti’s ministration lies not only in its biblical depth but also in its vision for transformation. She reframed womanhood as both a calling and a responsibility, to be Word-centered, Spirit-led, and outward-looking, carrying the light of Christ into every sphere of life.

The Today’s Woman Conference, born out of her vision, thus becomes more than an interdenominational gathering. It stands as a movement, preparing women to redefine their place in society and to leave a lasting mark, not only in their families but across the nation and beyond.
