Govt Dismisses Viral Pothole Image, Confirms Highway Repairs Underway

Minister Mhona

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development has refuted a viral social media post showing a massive pothole allegedly on the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Highway.

While acknowledging the need for repairs on certain sections, the ministry stated that the image does not match any part of the highway.

Rehabilitation work is in progress, with teams from the Department of Roads and Bitumen World already stationed in Hwange, Halfway, and Insiza to ensure timely road maintenance.

The video is part of a well choreographed campaign to discredit government’s efforts in rehabilitating infrastructure around the country.
