The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested a suspected alcohol smuggler, Rumbidzai Ndlela (33), at the Beitbridge Border Post as part of the ongoing operation “No To Cross Border Crimes.” The arrest, which took place on Friday, December 27, underscores the government’s intensified efforts to combat smuggling and protect the country’s revenue streams.
Ndlela was apprehended driving a White Mercedes Benz Sprinter, registration number AGA 9507, at the Industrial Site in Beitbridge. Upon inspection, police discovered an illicit haul of alcoholic beverages concealed in the vehicle. The contraband included:

The government has intensified its fight against smuggling, launching operations to curb the illegal movement of goods, particularly at border posts like Beitbridge, which are key transit points.
