Gospel singer Mai Dhuterere granted bail in US$16 000 fraud case

Gospel singer and wife to Mambo Dhuterere, Dorcas Vambe has been granted a US$100 bail by the magistrate court in a US$16,000 fraud case.

In September 2024, Vambe and her accomplice brother Kudakwashe Vambe who is still at large misrepresented to the complainant that they were selling a Toyota Hilux GD6 vehicle.

They also misrepresented that Dorcas Vambe had a waiver of duty courtesy of the President for “singing for the nation”.

They advised the complainant that they would acquire two vehicles for the amount of US$16,000.After receiving the money the two accused failed to deliver on their promise.

Instead of supplying the two cars they delivered a Botswana registered Ford Ranger and promised to deliver a Mercedes Benz C200.

All hell broke loose after the Ford Ranger was impounded by the Police for being used without a temporary import permit.

The court granted Mai Dhuterere a US$100 bail.
