On December 4, 2024, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa officiated the commissioning of 220 housing units under the Dzivaresekwa and Imbizo Barracks Institutional Accommodation Project, alongside the handover of 54 utility vehicles.
This milestone forms part of the Government’s ambitious plan to deliver one million houses by 2025, a cornerstone of the Second Republic’s housing agenda.
The project underscores the Government’s unwavering commitment to addressing Zimbabwe’s growing demand for affordable and quality housing, especially in urban and rural communities. Housing development remains integral to the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), reflecting efforts to create sustainable living conditions and enhance the well-being of citizens amid ongoing socio-economic challenges.
