President Mnangagwa to Join African Leaders at FOCAC Summit in China

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to join other African leaders at the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in Beijing, scheduled from September 4 to 6, 2024. The summit, themed “Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future,” aims to strengthen China-Africa relations, aligning with China’s broader geopolitical ambitions.

FOCAC, established in 2000, is a vital multilateral platform that promotes economic, political, and social cooperation between China and Africa. All 54 African nations, alongside the African Union Commission, are members, ensuring that FOCAC’s initiatives align with the African Union’s agenda.
