In a recent message to his congregation at Holy Ground International Church, Apostle P. Marozva highlighted a growing concern within the Christian community—the increasing focus on spiritual growth while neglecting the equally important aspect of empowerment and practical living. He urged believers to embrace both their priesthood and kingship roles as taught in the Bible.
Apostle Marozva began by acknowledging the deep commitment many Christians have to prayer, fasting, and spiritual disciplines. “It’s wonderful to see so many people dedicating themselves to seeking God and growing in their spiritual lives,” he said. “But there is a danger in focusing exclusively on the priesthood side—praying, worshiping, and becoming more spiritual—while neglecting the kingship side, which involves empowerment, leadership, and making a tangible impact in the world.”
He explained that the Bible teaches that Christians are both priests and kings (Revelation 1:6), meaning they are called to not only serve God in spiritual matters but also to take dominion and lead in the practical aspects of life. “We are called to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth,” he continued. “This means we must influence our communities, our workplaces, and our nations with the wisdom and power God has given us.”
Apostle Marozva pointed out that too often, Christians emphasize the spiritual side to the detriment of their responsibility to be agents of change in the world. “We pray for breakthroughs, but we must also prepare ourselves to step into the opportunities God presents,” he said. “Empowerment is part of our calling as believers. We need to develop skills, build businesses, lead in our communities, and make decisions that shape the future.”
He also emphasized the importance of education, economic empowerment, and leadership training for Christians. “God has given us the ability to create wealth, to govern wisely, and to make a difference in society,” he said, referencing Deuteronomy 8:18. “But we cannot do this if we only focus on spiritual matters and ignore the practical aspects of life.”
Apostle Marozva urged the Christian community to strike a balance between their spiritual and practical lives. “We must be both prayer warriors and leaders in our communities,” he said. “It’s time to rise up and take our place in society, using the gifts and talents God has given us to bring about positive change.”
He concluded by encouraging believers to seek God’s guidance in all areas of their lives, not just in their spiritual walk. “Pray for wisdom, for strategies, and for the courage to step out and make a difference,” he said. “We are called to be kings and priests, to serve God and to lead in the world. Let us not neglect one for the other.”
