Zimbabwe Welcomes New Ambassadors

His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa received Letters of Credence from four Ambassadors Designate at State House. In a post on X, the President welcomed H.E. Ms. Pamela Tremondt of the USA, H.E. Mr. Austin Gormely of Ireland, H.E. Ms. Joan Thomas Edwards of Jamaica, and H.E. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew of Thailand. He expressed enthusiasm about strengthening diplomatic relations and cooperation for mutual benefit.

Ambassador Tremondt remarked, “It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe. My goal is to continue to support Zimbabwean people as they build a more democratic and prosperous future, and to partner as we confront global challenges.”

Zimbabwe is a vibrant and sovereign constitutional democracy, pursuing a foreign policy of “Engagement, Re-engagement, and Re-affirmation” under the mantra, “Zimbabwe is a friend to all, and an enemy to none.” President Mnangagwa’s welcoming of the Ambassadors aims to strengthen bilateral relations on an equal footing for the benefit of both nations. These esteemed Ambassadors are encouraged to acclimate to Zimbabwe’s socio-economic-political environment and appreciate its thriving democracy.

As a friendly people, Zimbabweans welcome the Ambassadors to enjoy the rich cultural heritage of their developing nation, which continues to thrive despite the yoke of debilitating sanctions imposed against it.
