Govt, Business and Labour Seal National Social Contract (2026-2030) to Drive Inclusive Growth

The Zimbabwe Cabinet received and approved the National Social Contract (2026-2030) made by Government, Organised Business and Organised Labour, which was presented by the Minister of Local Government and Public Works on behalf of the Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Social Development, Vice President Hon. Dr. K.C.D. Mohadi.

The Social Contract represents an agreement between Government, Business and Labour concerning their rights and obligations towards each other and how they should work together in pursuit of common national goals. Focusing on three interconnected pillars – Economic, Labour and Social – the Contract provides a comprehensive roadmap for addressing key national challenges and promoting inclusive and sustainable development. It is therefore a pragmatic, consensus-driven framework for addressing national challenges through strengthened social dialogue, coordinated action and shared

The approval signals Government’s commitment to ensuring harmony, stability and shared prosperity through sustained dialogue between Government, Business and Labour in pursuit of inclusive and sustainable development under NDS2.
