HARARE – ZANU PF Harare Province has intensified its grassroots mobilisation programme, with provincial leadership conducting successful membership verification exercises in Mabvuku-Tafara and Epworth as the revolutionary party strengthens its structures, expands membership, and consolidates its grassroots base ahead of future electoral processes.
The programme, led by Harare Province Chairman, Cde Adv. Godwills Masimirembwa, brought together grassroots leaders, branch executives and cell leaders to verify membership records and strengthen Party structures under the Province’s ongoing organisational programme.
Addressing members in Mabvuku-Tafara, Cde Masimirembwa commended Party structures for their dedication and unwavering commitment, describing the successful verification exercise as evidence of a growing, organised and vibrant revolutionary Party.
He urged every structure to intensify the recruitment of new members through the “Fishers of Men” programme, recently launched by the Harare Province Commissariat Department, saying the initiative remains central to expanding the Party’s support base.
“We must continue recruiting new members and strengthening every Party cell. Every member must become an ambassador of the Party within their community because our strength begins at the grassroots,” he said.
The Provincial Chairman also called on members to uphold the ZANU PF Constitution, commonly known as the Green Book, stressing that every programme, decision and activity of the Party must be guided by its provisions.
“Everything we do is constitutional. We are guided by the Green Book. Every member must know, respect and uphold our Party Constitution,” said Cde Masimirembwa.
He encouraged members to renew and maintain valid Party membership by subscribing to the annual US$1 membership card, describing it as a constitutional obligation that reflects commitment to the revolutionary Party.
Cde Masimirembwa further emphasised that discipline remains one of the Party’s core principles, explaining that members who abandoned ZANU PF or chose to contest elections as independent candidates cannot simply return without following the disciplinary and readmission procedures provided for in the Green Book.
“The Party is governed by its Constitution. Every matter, including discipline and readmission, is handled according to the Green Book,” he said.
The Provincial Chairman also commended Mabvuku-Tafara legislator, Cde Scott Sakupwanya, for his commitment to grassroots mobilisation and organisational development, saying the progress witnessed in the constituency reflected dedicated leadership and hard work.
Harare Province Political Commissar, Cde Voyage Dambuza, joined the verification exercise alongside other provincial leaders, where he also participated in verifying Party structures and membership records.
Cde Dambuza urged every leader to fully embrace the “Fishers of Men” programme by actively recruiting new members and strengthening authentic Party structures.
“Our responsibility is to recruit, organise and strengthen the Party from the grassroots. Every leader must be visible within the communities, recruiting new members and ensuring our cells remain active, vibrant and productive,” he said.
He added that continuous verification of membership records remains critical in building credible, organised and effective Party structures capable of delivering future electoral success.
Later in the day, Cde Masimirembwa proceeded to Epworth, where he led another successful verification exercise, reinforcing Harare Province’s province-wide programme of strengthening Party structures, verifying membership, and accelerating recruitment.
The verification programme forms part of Harare Province’s broader strategy to build authentic grassroots structures, expand membership through the Fishers of Men initiative, strengthen constitutionalism within the Party, and consolidate support as ZANU PF positions itself for future electoral success.
