By Otillia Makomo

HARARE – President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa today addressed the ZANU PF National Assembly at the party headquarters, calling on members to embrace technology and use it responsibly in advancing the interests of the Party, the nation and humanity.

“I urge Party members to continue embracing technology and apply it wisely for the betterment of our Party, for humanity and our great country,” said President Mnangagwa. “ZANU PF is modernising; we are here to stay.”

The President, who is also the ZANU PF First Secretary, anchored his remarks on the Party’s legacy of resilience and continuity. Quoting the late national hero and former Vice President, Cde Simon Vengesayi Muzenda, President Mnangagwa reminded delegates:

“‘ZANU PF ichatonga kusvikira madongi amera nyanga.’ This generation will do its part to realise this dream.”

His remarks come as ZANU PF intensifies efforts to digitise party structures, strengthen communication systems and enhance data-driven decision-making from cell to national level.

The President said the responsibility now rests with the current generation of party cadres to safeguard the gains of the liberation struggle, deepen unity and accelerate national development in line with Vision 2030.

He urged members to remain disciplined, patriotic and forward-looking as the Party continues adapting to the evolving political and economic landscape.

The National Assembly concluded with delegates reaffirming their commitment to rolling out digital training programmes, improving online engagement and ensuring that ZANU PF’s modernisation drive reaches every province, district and cell across the country.
