HARARE – The Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) is mourning the death of Wing Commander John Katandika, who passed away yesterday after a short illness.
In a condolence message, Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede, Commander of the Air Force of Zimbabwe, described the late Wing Commander Katandika as a gallant officer who served the nation with honour, dedication and distinction throughout his military career.
Air Marshal Nzvede said the late officer’s unwavering commitment to duty and professionalism had earned him the respect of his colleagues and the broader Air Force fraternity.
The passing of Wing Commander Katandika has been met with an outpouring of condolences from serving and retired members of the Air Force of Zimbabwe, who have remembered him as a disciplined, loyal and dedicated officer.
The Air Force of Zimbabwe is expected to announce funeral and burial arrangements in due course.
