Harare, Zimbabwe – ZANU PF has reaffirmed its strong commitment to the welfare and advancement of workers across the country, recognising their central role in driving economic growth and national development.
In marking this year’s International Workers’ Day, ZANU PF Harare Province will take part in the commemorations at Dzivarasekwa Stadium, joining workers, trade unions and various stakeholders in celebrating their contribution to Zimbabwe’s progress.
Guided by the leadership of Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Second Republic continues to place workers at the core of its development agenda through a range of targeted interventions. These include ongoing reviews of civil service remuneration, complemented by non-taxable allowances aimed at easing the impact of economic pressures.
Beyond monetary measures, the Government has rolled out programmes such as housing schemes and mortgage support facilities to improve the quality of life for workers. Engagement platforms like the Tripartite Negotiating Forum remain key in fostering dialogue between Government, business and labour, ensuring that workers’ concerns are addressed in a structured and inclusive manner.
The implementation of National Development Strategy 1 continues to anchor workers within the broader national vision, positioning them as key drivers of industrialisation, modernisation and job creation as the country moves towards Vision 2030.
President Mnangagwa has consistently underscored that the attainment of Vision 2030 is closely tied to the productivity, resilience and well-being of Zimbabwean workers. As such, the Workers Day commemorations provide an important platform to reflect on progress made and to reinforce the national commitment to safeguarding and uplifting the workforce.
