Geo Pomona Wins Top Energy Award at ZITF 2026

Geo Pomona Waste Management has been awarded the Best Zimbabwean Energy Exhibit at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026, in recognition of its innovation in waste to energy solutions and contribution to sustainable development.

The award was presented by the President of the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Advocate Duma Boko, to the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman, Dilesh Nguwaya, during the official awards ceremony held in Bulawayo.

The recognition places Geo Pomona among the leading exhibitors at this year’s trade showcase, reflecting growing regional emphasis on sustainable energy, environmental management and industrial innovation.

In a statement, the company described the award as a significant milestone, reaffirming its commitment to delivering practical and sustainable solutions that create long term value for Zimbabwe and the broader region.

Geo Pomona’s model integrates modern waste management systems with energy generation, positioning the project as a key contributor to cleaner urban environments, improved sanitation and enhanced energy security.

The development comes amid increasing focus on green investment and infrastructure modernisation in Zimbabwe, as the country seeks to align industrial growth with environmental sustainability.

Industry observers note that innovations such as waste to energy are gaining traction as viable solutions to urban waste challenges while simultaneously addressing energy deficits.

Geo Pomona expressed gratitude to its employees, partners and stakeholders, whose support it said has been critical in achieving the recognition.

The 66th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair has drawn exhibitors from across Zimbabwe, the region and international markets, showcasing advancements in trade, technology and investment opportunities, with sustainability emerging as a central theme.
