The event, themed “Fighting Drugs and Substance Abuse Through Promoting Local Arts Towards the Attainment of Vision 2030 and Endorsement of Amendment Bill Number 3,” comes at a crucial time when communities are intensifying efforts to curb drug and substance abuse among youths.

Through music, Cde Muhammad Williams aims to provide a positive platform for young people to channel their energy into productive and life-changing activities. Speaking at the event, he noted:

“The musical show will not only showcase artistic talent but also raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of discipline, focus, and self-development.”

Arts have long been recognized as a unifying force that builds character, teamwork, leadership, and resilience. By advancing skills development through arts, this musical show aligns with the national Vision 2030 agenda, championed by His Excellency President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy. Empowered, healthy, and skilled youths are central to achieving this national vision.

Cde Muhammad emphasized that the future of the nation lies in the hands of young people who are focused, drug-free, and equipped with practical skills. By investing in arts, communities are investing in the physical, mental, and social well-being of their youths — ensuring that no one and no place is left behind.

The musical performances were headlined by Dr Allan Chimbetu, supported by various established and upcoming local artists, providing entertainment while reinforcing a powerful message of hope, responsibility, and community engagement.
