Zimplats Holdings: A Half Year of Strong Growth and Strategic Advancements

Zimplats Holdings Limited has released its interim financial results for the half year ended December 31, 2025, showcasing a period of significant growth and strategic progress. The company’s revenue surged by 83% to US$641.8 million, driven by a 66% increase in average metal prices and a 13% rise in 6E metal production to 316,765 ounces.

The improved financial performance is a testament to the company’s operational excellence, with profit before income tax jumping 2,191% to US$203.4 million and profit after tax increasing 3,376% to US$143.7 million. The group’s net cash inflows from operating activities also rose to US$171.8 million, with cash and cash equivalents standing at US$145.7 million as of December 31, 2025.

The company’s operational performance was marked by improved trackless mobile machinery (TMM) availabilities and productivity enhancement initiatives, resulting in an 8% increase in mined volumes to 4.2 million tonnes. Tonnes milled rose by 5% to 4.0 million tonnes, supported by a reduced number of mills reline shutdowns.

Zimplats continued to advance its capital projects, with the development and upgrade of Mupani Mine remaining on schedule. The smelter expansion and Phase 1 of the sulphur dioxide (SO2) abatement plant project is technically complete, increasing smelting capacity and reducing environmental impact.

The company also made progress in securing renewable power generation, with the successful commissioning of the Phase 1A 35MW solar plant and the commencement of the Phase 2A 45MW solar plant implementation.

As Zimplats looks to the future, safety remains a top priority, with the company committed to achieving its zero-harm goal. The improvement in platinum group metal prices has strengthened the company’s position, enabling it to focus on operational excellence and sustainable growth.

“We are building a stronger, safer, and more sustainable future, one that thrives on excellence and creates lasting value for all stakeholders,” said Alex Mhembere, Chief Executive Officer.
