The initiative drew the presence of several senior party officials and representatives. Cde Ben Chivandire, the Provincial Department Secretary for Local Government, was the most senior member present. Cde Tembo Saidi, widely known as Cde Sox, is the Provincial Secretary General for the Youth League. Cde Mabasa serves as the DCC Secretary for Mines in Goromonzi District.
Also in attendance were Cde Getrude Mazvimba from the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association, Chairman Ngondo, Chairman Herbert Zaranyika, Cde Nyarugwe, and chairladies from party wings in Border Gezi District, alongside Sarudzai Chinamaropa and other supporters.
Addressing the gathering, Honourable Mudzingwa emphasized the importance of women embracing their identity and leadership roles within society.
“Musangano mudzimai,” she said, reinforcing the significance of women’s participation in decision making spaces and community development platforms.
She also paid tribute to liberation war veterans, acknowledging their foundational role in shaping the nation.
“War veterans, both the departed and those still living, enabled us to be what we are today,” she added.
The food distribution programme reflects sustained grassroots mobilisation efforts and highlights the role of community driven initiatives in strengthening social welfare and unity in Ruwa.
